The Joey Memorial Fund
For Community Cats

Joey entered our lives as a little kitten rescue in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. He was our special boy and helped us through the next 13 years, being our feisty little support buddy through our ups and downs. Joey was naturally curious and independent: he always wanted to be in the same room as everyone else, but you could only touch him when he allowed—and he would let you know by choosing you and sitting our your lap. He had a beautiful fur pattern and gorgeous green eyes with large pupils. He showed his love through cuddles, making biscuits, slightly-too-hard bites, slow blinks, and never letting you out of his sight. He passed away in our arms on Thursday, December 21, 2023, giving us many years of love and memories.

The Joey Memorial Fund is set up in his honor to help other cats get a chance at a full, healthy, and happy life. His memory will live forever in our hearts and minds and we hope to make a difference in countless cat lives while remembering our little baby boy. Thank you for your support.

Much love,

Sarah VanderMeer, El Hachemi Bouali, and Phoebe (Joey's little cat sister)
