Adoptable Special Needs Cats

Olivia, 8 months old, female

Olivia (aka Ollie) appears to be a Classic Seal Point Siamese. She was found outside as a baby but has been raised in a loving foster home with other foster kittens and with adult cats and dogs. She is a treasure and a beauty! And what a talker! She is a vocal girl and will tell you all about whatever is on her mind.

Olivia LOVES being around other cats. She will play, snuggle and eat with whoever will let her. If it’s a chilly night, she sometimes even insists on getting under the covers with you. She is a sweet kitten who enjoys playing with toys and settling down for a snuggle on your lap to watch some TV together. When it’s time to eat, if you call her name she will come running!

Poor Olivia has been fighting some upset tummy issues and is currently on a couple medications and some special food. The vet thinks she may have some IBD, but is hopeful the medication and special food will fix it. The vet said she will need to be on this regimen for a few months, so she will need an adopter who is committed to giving the medications and making sure she sticks to her special food until the vet gives the all clear.

Olivia would be happiest in a home with another kitten or adult cat(s). She would even do well in a home with a cat friendly dog or dogs.

Romie, 8 months old, female

Romie was brought to PALNV as a stray when she was 2 months old. She is an orange tabby with short hair and kink at the end of her tail. Romie is a sweetheart who loves to sit on you and be pet. She loves attention and would do best as the only pet in the house due to her special dietary needs. She is extremely affectionate and loves to purr! She also prefers to be as close to you as possible. She has been known to jump into your arms and will attempt to climb up you so she can ride on your shoulders!

Romie is on a strict diet of raw food only, given 2-3 times a day. She is currently eating Viva for Cats brand. This can be purchased online and stored in the freezer until thawed/heated for her to eat.

Lorelei, 9 months old, female

Lorelei was 3 weeks old when she was found by a trapper. She was 4 weeks old when she was diagnosed with feline panluekopenia, or more commonly known as just panluek. Panluek is devastating and can be fatal for cats, especially young kittens. It affects the intestinal lining and white blood cells. Thanks to donors who paid her hospital bill, Lorelei was able to receive treatment and survived! Panluek is very contagious, however it does not affect people and those cats who survive the virus will become immune to a subsequent infection.

However, Lorelei has had some digestive issues ever since and will need to be kept on a special diet. She has been eating Hill’s Biome, which helped, and is currently eating a digestive/sensitive system food that can be purchased without a prescription. Lorelei loves to play and gets along well with other cats. She has never been around a dog so it is unknown if she would get along well with dogs. She has been known to have a little “cat”itude once in a while!
