Pet Food Assistance

PALNV helps low-income families, senior citizens, veterans and the homeless care for their dogs and cats by providing pet food (canned and dry) and cat litter each month free of charge

.  

 Seniors, Veterans, financially struggling Families and Homeless must verify the requirements below:

  • Proof of Residency: Driver's License, Nevada ID with current address or utility bill with applicant's name and current address
  • Maximum income $1500 (single), $2800 (2 persons), plus $400 for each additional person: Copies of SSI or Social Security award letter, bank statement, latest Federal income tax return or pay stub
  • Proof of pet's spay or neuter:  Spay/Neuter paperwork, veterinary visit papers, tipped ear for cats or a letter from your veterinarian.   

Clients of Helping Hands of Las Vegas Valley and Clark County's VIVO Program qualify automatically however, 

their pets must be spayed or neutered.

Spay/Neuter Assistance

PALNV is proud to offer two options to pet guardians in need of assistance in spaying/neutering of owned animals.


FIX-A-PIT provides financial assistance to guardians of "Pit Bull" and "Pit Bull" mixes who want to have their dog spayed or neutered. PALNV received a grant from Best Friends Animal Society for 2017. The grant amount is $10,000, our goal is to spay/neuter 222 Pit and Pit mixes by the end of June 2018.

 FIX-A-PAL provides financial assistance to owners of all types of dogs and cats who want to have their pet spayed or neutered. The funding for this assistance is from donations made by caring donors who want to help control pet overpopulation and reduce the number of animals entering the shelters.

Vaccine/Microchip Clinics

PALNV offers a low-cost vaccine/microchip clinics at our new Pet Support Center on N Rancho Drive. Our goal is to expand into a Wellness Clinic that will be able to do non-surgical wellness exams, fecals, dispense medication and provide referrals for more serious medical problems. Our vaccine clinics are open every 2nd and 4th Saturday to begin with and as more clients are added we will extend our hours.

Pet Food Bank

PALNV operates a pet food bank for our clients and PALNV Coalition Partners. The bank is in our warehouse facility on N Rancho Drive. At this time the majority of our food supplies come from Three Square Food Bank, Merrick Pet Care and Rescue Bank. Additionally, individual donors provide pet food and volunteers help rebag and deliver it. A special thank you to all that help us care for pets-in-need.

 

Who We Serve:


Each month we help approximately 250 Dogs, 196 Cats, and 7 Birds belonging to the homeless, senior citizens, veterans and low-income pet families.
